Up to 30 entrepreneurs and businesses working in Rwanda’s waste and circular economy sector
will be selected in Ireme Invest’s first call for applications under its Project Preparation Facility run
by the Rwanda Green Fund. Successful applicants will go through a guided journey of expert
mentoring, workshops and coaching. The initial four month programme will enhance their
product or service quality, and prepare them for market testing, resource mobilisation and
prototype funding.
Grant investment funding of up to Rwf 60 million will be provided to up to ten participating
businesses based on milestones achieved during the first phase of the programme. The ten
supported businesses will then have the opportunity to showcase their products to investors in
the sector.
The Ireme Invest Circular Economy Programme will support businesses to contribute to the
implementation of Rwanda’s Circular Economy Action Plan and Roadmap, the National Integrated
Solid Waste Management Strategy, as well as the country’s NDC Climate Action Plan and Green
Growth and Climate Resilience Strategy.
